The Architecture of the Coil.

A Kozma-trained, Rëzo & Cadō certified atelier shaping curls as three-dimensional architecture — pattern by pattern, porosity by porosity.

— Chapter I · The Brief

Hydration as a
science. Geometry
as the finish.

Curly hair is not a problem to be tamed — it is an organic architecture that demands a wholly different vocabulary of shears, of moisture, of light. At Hera, every coil is mapped before it is touched. We read the spiral, then we sculpt it.

Our specialists are Kozma-trained, Rëzo & Cadō certified, and have worked the runways of Johannesburg, the academies of London, the salons of Melbourne. They understand that a curly cut is not a haircut: it is the controlled negotiation between gravity, geometry, and your individual porosity profile.

This is the doctrine. This is the page. This is — quite simply — Singapore’s most precise address for curls.

Chapter II

Hydration is
a science.

Before any blade meets your hair, three measurements are taken. Porosity. Density. Elasticity. The cut follows the data — not the other way around.

— Hydration · In Motion
— The Science, Visualised Every coil is read before it is touched — porosity, density, elasticity — then negotiated into its own architecture.
01

Porosity — the cuticle’s appetite for moisture.

Low porosity cuticles lie flat and resist absorption; product sits on the surface. High porosity strands drink quickly and release just as fast. We diagnose with a strand-float test, then build the regimen around it — humectants for low, sealants and protein layering for high.

02

Density — strands per square centimetre.

Density dictates how layering, weight removal, and internal texturising must be balanced. Sparse density requires illusion; abundant density requires controlled subtraction. We never thin aggressively — we sculpt by zone.

03

Elasticity — the curl’s memory of itself.

A curl that stretches and snaps back is structurally sound. One that stretches and stays is starved of protein. Elasticity governs whether your hair is ready for colour, treatment, or only for rest. We refuse to chemically process under-elastic hair — no exceptions.

04

Shrinkage — the choreography of length.

Curls retract anywhere from 10% (2A) to 75%+ (4C) from wet to dry. Our cutting maps the dry silhouette first, then engineers backwards. This is why Hera curls grow out beautifully — the geometry was planned for shrinkage, not in spite of it.

05

The Singapore Coefficient.

96% average humidity, equatorial UV, and air-conditioned dehydration form a unique trichological climate. Every Hera regimen is formulated for this specific atmospheric load — humidity-smart finishing oils, anti-frizz cuticle sealants, and sulfate-free cleansers calibrated for tropical wear.

We cut curls dry.
Then we cut again,
wet.

The Rëzo & Cadō protocols share one principle: the curl must be read in its natural state before it is shaped. A wet curl is a lie — it is heavy, elongated, and untrue to its dried silhouette.

— Step 01

The dry consultation.

Hair arrives natural — no buns, no styling product, no fresh wash. We assess the pattern in its truest, gravity-loaded state. The dry silhouette becomes the blueprint.

— Step 02

Curl-by-curl shaping.

Each coil is isolated and cut at the apex of its natural spring. No tension. No combing. The curl decides its own length, twice. We are merely the instrument.

— Step 03

Wet refinement.

Hair is then cleansed and re-shaped wet for structural perimeter, weight removal, and architectural balance. The two states must agree — dry shape and wet form, in dialogue.

— Step 04

The diffused finish.

Low-heat diffused or hand-air styling. We bring the curl back to itself, gloss the cuticle, and step away. The finish is luminous — never frozen. Movement, not lacquer.

Chapter III · The Spectrum

Colour without
compromise.

Curl-safe, non-bleach tones — engineered to glow without compromising the cuticle. Bond-builders. Low ammonia. Curl pattern preserved. Golden Caramel, Beige Blonde, Mahogany, Cherry Red & Sandy Blonde.

The Ultimate
Curl-Defining
Ritual.

More than hydration — a fully personalised, expert-led restoration. Detox. Diagnose. Define. The gold-standard curl revival, performed curl-by-curl.

— Phase 01

The Clarifying Reset.

Curl-safe cleansing dissolves buildup and environmental residue, opening the cuticle for deep moisture access. The pre-condition for every restoration that follows.

— Phase 02

Protein–Moisture Precision.

Every curl is structurally assessed. Hydration and strength are balanced — no limp over-conditioning, no brittle protein overload. Calibration over correction.

— Phase 03

Curl-Safe Formulations.

Strictly sulphate-free, silicone-free, alcohol-free. Botanical oils, amino acids, hydrating agents. Nothing weighs down. Nothing builds up.

— Phase 04

The Mask Infusion.

A bespoke treatment mask is selected by porosity and curl pattern. Layered, sealed, and pressed into the cuticle — not for time, but for absorption.

— Phase 05

Steam Hydration Therapy.

Optional warm-steam infusion opens the cuticle for deeper penetration — restoring softness, elasticity, and post-damage curl memory.

— Phase 06

The Diffused Finish.

Moisture-locking stylers, calibrated to your curl type, seal hydration and enhance curl memory. Low-heat diffusing or air-styling brings curls to life — volume, shine, impeccable shape.

If the curl doesn’t sing,
we re-cut. Or we refund.

Every Hera service carries an unconditional seven-day guarantee. If the result does not honour the brief, we will either re-perform the service to your full satisfaction — or refund you in full. No interpretation. No fine print. The work is the contract.

The Lexicon of
Curls. FAQ.

— Q.01

How long do the curls last after the Curl-Defining ritual?

+

Your curls remain hydrated, defined, and humidity-resistant from wash to wash. We do not alter your natural curl pattern — we enhance its health, bounce, and manageability. The longevity lives in the home routine: curl-friendly products, leave-in conditioner on wet hair, gentle diffusing or air-drying.

With deep conditioning each fortnight and sulphate-free cleansing, your curls remain beautifully defined between visits — soft, sprung, effortlessly intentional.

— Q.02

Are your specialists experienced with all curl types — including Type 4?

+

Absolutely. From loose 2A waves to tight 4C coils, our stylists are trained across the complete Andre Walker spectrum and apply technique by pattern — never by template.

  • Expertise across every texture, every density.
  • Methods calibrated by porosity, shrinkage, and elasticity.
  • A studio culture that celebrates every curl type — equally and without translation.
— Q.03

Do you provide curl education during appointments?

+

Yes. Hera is a knowledge-led atelier — every appointment includes an in-depth diagnostic and consultation.

  • Personalised product recommendations for your porosity and pattern.
  • Hair-health guidance: moisture retention, frizz prevention, strengthening.
  • Styling techniques and at-home protocols that extend your salon result.

You leave with the cut — and the literacy to maintain it.

— Q.04

What products do you use and recommend?

+

We work exclusively with curl-friendly formulations — sulphate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free.

  • Cleansers that respect the scalp microbiome and don’t strip moisture.
  • Conditioners and stylers that hydrate without buildup.
  • Botanical infusions, amino-acid blends, and curl-defining stylers, curated for your specific curl type.
— Q.05

How should I prepare for my curly haircut appointment?

+

Arrive with your curls clean, dry, detangled, and in their natural state — free of braids, ponytails, buns, or heavy styling product. This allows accurate assessment of your true pattern.

If circumstances prevent this, our in-salon cleansing and detangling service is available — additional time and fees may apply. We will always meet you where you are.

— Q.06

How often should I get a curly haircut?

+

The cadence depends on length, pattern, and styling intentions.

  • Shorter curly styles — every 8–10 weeks to maintain definition.
  • Medium to long curls — every 10–16 weeks, shape-dependent.
  • Tightly coiled and protective styles — every 3–6 months for split-end management.

Your stylist will recommend the right interval at consultation, with the long-term silhouette in mind.

— Q.07

Why do you dry-cut curls? Doesn’t wet-cutting give more precision?

+

A wet curl is stretched, weighted, and dishonest about its dry silhouette. Cutting wet leads to the most common curly-hair disaster: the dreaded triangle. The Rëzo and Cadō protocols both begin dry for one reason — the silhouette must be read in its native gravity before it is shaped.

We dry-cut for shape and curl-by-curl integrity, then wet-refine for perimeter and weight removal. Two passes. One honest result.

— Q.08

Can I colour my curls without compromising the pattern?

+

Yes — and this is the entire purpose of our Non-Bleach Spectrum. Our golden caramel, beige blonde, mahogany, cherry red, and sandy blonde tones are achieved with low-ammonia, bond-builder–supported formulas. We refuse to chemically process under-elastic hair, and we never bleach over compromised curl patterns.

If your hair is too fatigued for colour, we will tell you. The work is the contract.
